09 June 2023 Acquisition of cinema studios by AXA IM Alts

Lacourte Raquin Tatar advised AXA IM Alts, acting on behalf of its clients, in the acquisition:

 

(i) a 12-hectare site in Bry-sur-Marne and Villiers-sur-Marne, housing one of France’s leading film and TV shooting complexes, from Nexity, and

 

(ii) Transpalux, which operates the film sets on the site.

 

The studios will be managed by Guillaume de Menthon, former Chairman of Telfrance, one of France’s leading fiction production groups.

 

The site includes one of France’s leading filming complexes for cinema and TV series. This transaction is the first for AXA IM Alts – the world’s leading alternative investment firm with over 185 billion euros in assets under management – in the fast-growing film and series production sector, and will be complemented by a significant development program, enabling the site to more than double its production capacity and eventually become one of the largest studio complexes in continental Europe.
